Silvia Pereira de Castro Casa Nova (Sil)

In terms of introduction, I am mother of Zé, Isa, and Bonnie, researcher and full professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Co-founder of GENERAS, the Research Group in Gender, Race and Sexuality. I’ve been a visiting researcher at Université Laval, University of Minnesota and ISCTE-IUL. Associate editor of Accounting Education and RAUSP. Member of the Latin American network QRCA – Qualitative Research and Critical Accounting. I am a cachaça connoisseur, guardian of Otto and Berenice, and found myself  to be a good gardener during the pandemic. I am a dissident body, feminist, and anti-racist. I am living a phase of my career in which I want to build a legacy, and I believe it comes from consolidating a solidarity (and care) research network. I research academic incivility, academic identity construction and socialisation processes, and non-traditional entrepreneurship. I dream of having an academic café in the future, in a place by the sea called Cananeia.
